Since we established the Belmont Hypnotherapy Centre in Ramsgate, Kent in1981 attitudes towards hypnosis have made major changes. In those early days people had many preconcieved ideas which dated back to the middle ages.  Fortunately as people became better educated and more open to new ideas we are no longer credited (or miscredited) with strange powers, witchcraft or scorcery.

Today we know more about the way the conscious and the subconscious minds work.  We know that by using hypnosis to by-pass the Critical Faculty of the conscious mind we are able to communicate with the subconscious.  We know that the human subconscious mind is immensely powerful in it's ability to bring about changes in one's behaviour providing that change is what one desires.
